Postdoctoral fellow position available in Wang Lab
A postdoctoral training position to study mitochondrial dysfunction in neurodegeneration or aging-related neurological diseases including Alzheimer’s disease is immediately available in the laboratory of Dr. Yingfei Wang in Departments of Pathology and Neurology at UT Southwestern Medical Center. Wang lab studies 1) oxidative stress/mitochondrial dysfunction-induced neurodegeneration and neuronal cell death in aging-related neurological diseases (Wang Y et al., Science, 2016; Liu S et al., Molecular Neurodegeneration, 2021) and 2) role of PARPs and PARP-1-dependent cell death (PARthanatos) regulators in health and diseases (Yang M et al., NAR 2022; Wang Y et al., Nature Communications 2021; Ruan Z et al., Cell Mol Life Sci 2021; Wang Y et al., Molecular Psychiartry, 2022). Our goal is to understand neurodegeneration and cell death induced by brain injury, mitochondrial dysfunction and/or aging-related genome instability.
Candidates must hold a Ph.D. or Ph.D/M.D. degree in biological science or other related disciplines. Experience in Neuroscience and Molecular Biology leading to publication in peer-reviewed journals is desired.
