Our Research
The goal of the Robertson Lab is to understand how different types of stress impact mitochondria in the corneal epithelium. These include hyperosmolar, desiccating, and inflammatory stress in dry eye disease, hyperglycemia in diabetes, and pathogen-induced stress during infection. Ultimately, we hope to develop novel therapies for the treatment of these common corneal diseases.
