Vulnerable populations, HIV and other related infectious diseases
The Ank Nijhawan research team is focused on improving outcomes for people living with or at risk for HIV, and ensuring their access to comprehensive healthcare and social support services. Her team prioritizes health equity by identifying health disparities and designing interventions to improve them.
Much of our work is focused on individuals involved in the criminal legal system, and specificaly the overlap of infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis, sexually transmitted infections and substance use. We study interventions including patient navigation and mobile health units, and use implementation science methods.
